Uptown

Located just five miles north of Downtown, Uptown apartment rentals are located in one of Chicago’s most famous and historic areas. In the early through middle part of the 20th century, Uptown was one of Chicago’s premier entertainment destinations, attracting theater goers and socialites from all over the city. In the 1920s, The Green Mill Jazz Club was home to famous gangster Al Capone who was part owner at the time. Present day, Uptown is still home to The Green Mill, as well as the Aragon Ballroom and Riviera Theater which now serve as concert venues.

Many of the ornate buildings constructed during the housing boom in the early 1900s still stand today and currently house some of Uptown’s best entertainment and dining options as well as many Uptown apartment rental options. Walk a half a block from the epicenter of the neighborhood (Lawrence Avenue and Broadway Street), and you’ll be greeted by the warm glow of marquee lights that hang above the local businesses and eateries. Walk a little further and you’ll be greeted by its side streets comprised mainly of large stone flats on over-sized lots. Moreover, if you’re looking for an Uptown apartment for rent this neighborhood is perfect for the everyday commuter, with the Red Line train and Lake Shore Drive only a few short minutes away. Uptown provides its residents and visitors with a one of a kind nightlife and a convenient location, making it one of Chicago’s most unique neighborhoods!

If you like the idea of renting an Uptown apartment you may also be interested in nearby Edgewater or Buena Park neighborhoods.
